The three roll mill is mainly used for the production of paints, inks, pigments, plastics, and other slurries. The working principle of the three roll grinder is to achieve the grinding effect through the surface extrusion of three horizontal rollers and friction at different speeds.
Features of three roll mill
1. The three roll mill is mainly installed on the frame by three rollers, and the center is in a straight state. There are two installation methods for the three roller mill, which can be installed horizontally or slightly inclined. Its working principle is mainly to achieve the effect of dispersion and emulsification through the surface of the three horizontal rollers and the extrusion and friction at different speeds. . The material of the roller can be selected from stainless steel, granite, ceramics, etc. The roller made of these materials can be hollow or water-cooled. The user needs to add material between the middle roll and the rear roll. Since the rotation directions of the three drums are different (the rotation speed increases sequentially from the back to the front), a good grinding effect is produced. After grinding, the material is scraped off by knives mounted in front of the front rollers.
2. When using the three roll mill, the user needs to check whether the position of each part is normal, and then add lubricating oil as shown in the figure. Before turning on the power, users need to adjust the front and rear handwheels, and then observe whether the rollers work normally. After the work of the three roller grinder is finished, the user needs to remove the dirt on the roller surface: Wipe with soft paper or clean cotton yarn, loosen the baffle clamp, adjust the front and rear rollers and the middle roller to 0.5 mm, and then turn on the power and idle for 1-2 minutes.

The three roll mill is mainly used for various high-grade pastes, such as paints, inks, plastics, pigments, cosmetics, electronic pastes, solar silver pastes, aluminum pastes, glass solder pastes, etc. It is especially suitable for the grinding of products with high dispersion viscosity and high particle size required by the centrifugal casting of chilled gold cast iron rolls. The crystal phase is dense, the strength is high, the surface hardness is high, and the wear resistance is good.
Operating instructions for three roll mills
(1) after starting the machine, the user needs to slowly adjust the speed and slow rollers to the corresponding positions, then add the slurry, and then make a precise and meticulous adjustment. Generally speaking, the rollers after adjusting to the best position, the depth of the surface color is the same, if the material is in the process of the grinding machine, the color of the intermediate material is lighter, and the material in other positions is more waiting, the general grinding state of the material is still normal, the user can use the cooling water. To be controlled, the water source can be released faster and for a longer time. Through the influence of thermal expansion, it will gradually become consistent. After the roller is adjusted, the discharge scraper will be placed on top.
(2) the slurry is mainly achieved by grinding between the middle roll and the slow roll. The fast roll mainly plays the role of bringing out the ground slurry, so the middle roll and the slow roll can be adjusted tighter. But the gap between the middle roll and the fast roll can not be too tight, because it is too tight, the line speed of the fast roll is several times faster than that of the slow roll, and the material quality, composition, and structure of the three roller roll are consistent, due to wear and tear and the thermal expansion coefficient and other factors are too different, and the result will cause the deformation of the fast roll and accelerate the wear of the fast roll.
(3) in the case of thin paint in the middle of the roller and thick paint at the two ends, water cooling can be accelerated during operation. After the roller undergoes thermal expansion due to surface friction, after a very short time, it will become straight, it is still basically straight when driving, which can appropriately reduce water cooling. In short, it should be controlled according to the actual situation. It must be noted that cooling water must not be left for a long time, because the heat on the surface of the roller gradually increases. After a certain degree, the surface of the roller will peel off, or irregular deformation will occur, resulting in unusable consequences.
(4) the roller wiping material is not resistant to acid and alkali, and the grinding of corrosive slurry should be avoided.
(5) pay attention to adjusting the speed roller at any time. Due to the thermal expansion of the roller, if you are not careful, it is easy to swell to death during work, and even brake the motor, resulting in an accident.
(6) the copper knife used for feeding should not be pressed too tightly, and lubricating oil should be injected into the arc at any time. Depending on the actual situation, the length of the working surface can be adjusted.
(7) note that during normal operation of the bearing, the temperature rise of the bearing shall not exceed 35 °c.
